I would go to Kerrville. Would the events all be on the same day, or would an overnight stay be involved?

Subject: [TXHUG] Feedback Needed on First TXHUG Organizational Meeting
Your feedback is requested as to convening the first in-person
organizational meeting for the TXHUG for the purpose of adopting the
proposed Charter, electing officers, and considering a Strategic Plan.
(See
http://www.hazus.org/TXHUG/TXHUG_DOCUMENTS/TXHUG_Charter_MAR21_05.pdf
for a copy of the draft charter.)
The TXHUG Steering Committee had hoped to schedule such a meeting in
connection with another event that interested persons might be attending
already, since there is no travel money specifically for a TXHUG
meeting. A good candidate was the Texas Floodplain Management
Association (TFMA) Fall Technical Conference, originally planned to be
held in Austin, TX. The TFMA has recently announced their conference
plans and issued a Call for Papers.
(See http://www.tfma.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Home.News&ID=82 )
The location has been changed to Kerrville, and the dates are Nov. 2-4,
2005. The Texas Geographic Society does plan to offer HAZUS-MH flood
model training in conjunction with the conference, and a general
HAZUS-MH flood model introduction presentation is planned for the
plenary session.
Our question is: will enough interested persons be able to travel to
Kerrville to make a TXHUG organizational meeting feasible? Are there
any alternate suggestions?
Thanks,
Amy Sebring
