[TXHUG] Final (??) Draft Charter & Word Version of Steering Committee List

Charter revision attached.  No comments are incorporated in the document 
itself.  Here is an explanation of the final changes:

Article 2: Purpose -- At the suggestion of Mike Peacock, reversed the 
order of the paragraphs so specific purpose comes first, and general 
purpose after.

Article 3:  Membership -- At the suggestion of Claire DeVaughan, 
reworded the statement of eligibility for style, and expanded to include 
the idea of not only GIS folks, but also decision-makers per Nitja comments.

Also, in order to address Mike's concern about the sequence of naming 
the committees in the documents without reorganizing the whole document, 
I added that members were eligible to serve as Officers or on the 
Standing Committees and named them out, so to introduce the list of 
committees up front at least.  I hope this will suffice.

Article 8: Section 2 Advisory Committee -- Changed 'especial expertise' 
to 'special expertise' per Claire.  I also deleted EMAT and ESRI from 
the list of initial members since we had not invited them yet actually. 
   This was to address Mike's comment regarding other professional 
associations that were omitted.  We can add more later if appropriate.

Regarding the second document, I took what Carlenya prepared in a 
spreadsheet (thank you!), boiled it down to essentials, and put it in a 
one page Word file for convenience.

I plan to request both documents be linked from our TXHUG Webpage 
pending some description from Shari (volunteered by Nitja!) to write up 
a brief description of where our efforts currently stand.

I also emailed and left a voice message for the TFMA President inquiring 
about their Fall Conference but have had no reply as yet.  I will try 
him again on Wednesday if I do not hear anything by then.
