Dear TXHUG members,
There will be a 1-day HAZUS training event on Tuesday, Sept 13, in Dallas,
Texas, in conjunction with the Texas Conference on
<http://www.txregionalcouncil.org/conf/index.php> Regionalism sponsored by
the Texas Association of Regional Councils.
FEMA-authorized trainers from the Texas Geographic Society will conduct the
introduction to HAZUS course.
Introduction to HAZUS-MH: Flood
This is a 1-Day course that introduces students to the basic principles of
HAZUS-MH and to the operation of the Flood model. The course includes a
mixture of lecture and hands-on learning and focuses on using HAZUS-supplied
data (Level-1 analysis), out of the box, to generate damage and loss
estimates resulting from riverine flooding. The course is intended for
professionals in mitigation planning and emergency response management and
for those with scientific specialties related to hazards and/or GIS
technology.
Space is limited, so please fax in your registration as soon as possible
(use the attached form).
For more information regarding course specifics, please feel free to contact
me (see info below).
Thanks, Craig Eissler
Note: An incorrect version of the conference web site may still indicate a ½
day training event, but this will actually be a full day, beginning at 8:30
AM.
